In a story similar to Buhl Mansion, the building passed through a succession of owners and many years of neglect and abandonment. After years of standing vacant, Jim and Donna Winner fell in love with their future "Tara" and purchased the building in 1984. Two additions later the grand and glorious Tara - A Country Inn stands as an imposing landmark in Western Pennsylvania.
The Winners have joyfully displayed their private collections for the public to enjoy while staying overnight, dining or touring Tara. Museum quality collections include a vast array of Gone With the Wind memorabilia, one of the largest Civil War weapons collections in the country, dozens of Frederick Remington bronzes, antique furniture including President Buchanan's dining room table and many more elegant antiques and original works of art.
